asymptote_stratatower_sq.jpg

Asymptote's Strata Tower in Abu Dhabi got the most comments this week. "Finally architecture has  entered the 21st Century," says V-Ster. JMZ takes the opposite view, saying: "Architecture has entered dark deep season-long Twin Peaks episode."

"Oh look! My 21st century computer just vomitted out some soulless corporate luxury residential schtick for a Gulf State!" adds our new friend Fling. Read the story and the comments here »

squslide_chubby003.jpg

A new reader called Fling is responsible for some of the best comments we've had. Here's what he (or she) has to say about Marcel Wanders' new Chubby chair (above):

"Some contemplative shots of the plastic chair by the seaside, staring out to sea, considering its future, ruminating on the Big Questions: 'What is it all about? Why am I here? What makes me different from any of the other plastic chairs out there? Where will I go when I die?' All good questions." Read the story and comments »

squ2hrw_hackenbroich_09.jpg

Here's Fling again, this time on Hackenbroich Architecten's Haarwerk hair salon in Cologne: "I got my hair cut here once and thay totally messed up the volumetric logic - I was wanting a subtle elegance and refined and rough appearance, but they made me look like a twat." Bye for now

That's it for this week, enjoy the sunshine!
